Sedation Dentistry Services

Many of our patients experience anxiety and fear when visiting or even just thinking about visiting the office.  Sedation dentistry allows our patients to become fully relaxed for the duration of their time in the treatment chair, feeling little or no discomfort. 

It's a great option for anyone who wants their next dental visit to be an even more comfortable and pleasant experience.  It is especially helpful for surgical procedures like root canals, wisdom tooth extractions and other dental surgeries.  Oral surgeons use sedation dentistry for many of their procedures.

Each of our sedation treatments provide a different level of relaxation for your comfort.  We would love to consult with you about which level of sedation would be best for your needs.

IV Sedation

IV Sedation or Intravenous Sedation is a great service we offer for patients who are anxious about having dental work or surgical procedures performed. Also known as "twilight sleep" IV Sedation is a technique in which medications are given through an IV port to sedate you.  Many patients report they had no memory of their appointment and "awoke" at home. 

This procedure is particularly useful during wisdom tooth extractions and dental implant placements.  IV Sedation can also be utilized for other dental procedures.  Please ask our staff if you have any interest in experiencing your next dental appointment in the most relaxing way possible.

Oral Sedation

Our office provides several options for oral sedation. Patients can come into the office 30-60 minutes before their appointment and take a pill that will relax them. This can ease dental anxiety and make patients more comfortable during stressful dental procedures.

Oral Sedation does not relax you as completely as IV Sedation.  However, it is a deeper relaxation than our Nitrous Oxide gas can provide.  Please ask our dental team about which sedation method would best fit your needs.

Nitrous Oxide

We offer nitrous oxide, commonly known as "laughing gas," upon request for dental procedures.  Nitrous oxide is commonly used to ease dental anxiety and make your experience more comfortable.

The biggest advantage to nitrous oxide over other sedation methods is its effects wear off quickly following the procedure.  This allows patients who utilize nitrous oxide to drive themselves and continue with their normal activities after their appointment.
